Author of the Month Books

Primary Author

Tomie de Paola (birthday) September 15, 1934 – author and illustrator of more than 200 children’s books, including the Strega Nona series. Winner of the Newbery Medal (2000) and Caldecott Medal (1976) awards.


Intermediate Author

Jack Prelutsky (birthday) September 8, 1940 – author of more than 50 books on children’s poetry. He was the first ever named U.S. Children’s Poet Laureate by Poetry Foundation in 2006.

New books have arrived!

I recently received a shipment of books I ordered at the end of last school year. There are also

some new books from our Scholastic Book Fair profits. Please look for these books in the “New

Book Section” (look for the orange signs) displays located both in the primary and

intermediate sections of the library. Come check them out!
